BREAK YOUR LIMITS: Lessons from BABEL

The tower of Babel in the book of Genesis chapter 11 is one of my favourite Bible stories because it clearly demonstrates the power God has deposited inside of man.  As the story clearly narrates, at that point in history the whole earth spoke one language, which by the way signifies unity of purpose, they said to each other let us build ourselves a city whose capital will be in Babel and let us build a tower that will reach to the heavens, which was the birth of a dream. I need to say this; at that point such a project would take years to complete, and I am very sure that it wouldn’t have been completed in their life time speaking about the pioneers of this dream, but it would have been completed someday if it had continued. If the distance between the sun and earth is 93, 000, 000 miles and the heavens is still far off, that tells you that probably such a project would have been completed in a time such as this. The question one would ask if how would they have been able to maneuver their way through outer space, but none of that would have been impossible because even God Himself said and I quote:” … No telling what they’ll come up with next – they’ll stop at nothing!  (The message translation).  What happened here is the power of a dream playing out here, the power to dream is so powerful that God recognized that these people would stop at nothing to accomplish this feat, not even the weather, the atmosphere, the sun, moon or whatever might have come their way would have stopped them. That is the power we have when we dream dreams and are determined to go the extra mile to make them a reality. The problem with most youth of today I always say is not the issue of not having enough finance or the opportunity to pursue their dreams and aspirations but the lack of zeal and will to dream dreams and pursue them to completion. One of the things that happen to a man each time he dreams is that the universe as it were begins to respond in consonance to the signal he is sending out, that is why all of a sudden your eyes become open to the numerous opportunities that abound in the fulfillment of this dream of yours. All of a sudden you begin to talk to the right people, get the right referrals, destiny helpers who have being sent to help you accomplish such feat begin to come your way, you begin to see better ways of accomplishing this very dream of yours, but none of these would happen if you decide to play it safe, such is a law of the Universe; a law that God Himself set in motion and being the Almighty He didn’t break the rule, all He needed do was play God and disrupt the very force binding them together to the fulfillment of this dream and that is giving them a different voice verse seven of same chapter reads: (God speaking) “… Come, we’ll go down and garble their speech so they won’t understand each other.” (The message translation) and that did the magic, the unity of purpose was now absent and with it came distractions, strife, animosity and finally division, that ended project BABEL and the rest like they say is history. Whatever you see today was once deemed or thought impossible until it was done. Was it not said that nobody could run a mile within a space of four minutes? But after one man did it, over 200 persons did it. The visit to the moon was thought impossible until July 20th 1969 when the crew of Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin Aldrin Jr. onboard Apollo 11 landed on the moon. Before the law of aerodynamics came into play, all that existed was the law of gravity but on the 17th day of December, 1903 a new law came to play and man officially flew for the very first time in history thanks to Orville and Wilbur Wright. The distance between you and the fulfillment of your dream is how far YOU are willing to go; only you can stop yourself. Every day I wake up to face my fears and the more I face them, the less afraid I become of them and the more feats I accomplish. It is up to you on how you want history to remember you.
Until I come your way next time “Keep winning!”
